TOPIC: Sisyphe boundary conditions

Hi,
I am trying to set up a simulation of the flume in my lab, but I'm having trouble setting a zero-evolution boundary condition at the downstream boundary. I have LIQBOR=4 and LIEBOR=5, but I'm still getting a lot of deposition right at the boundary, so it looks like it's still being interpreted as a zero solid discharge boundary somehow. I ran a different project with the same boundary conditions and it worked, but it is not working for this mesh.
Thanks

Update: it seems that no matter how I change the boundary condition file, I get the same problem. Is there a Sisyphe keyword that could be overriding the boundary conditions I set in the file?

Hello,

You should try with LIQBOR=5 and LIEBOR=5, with EBOR=0 for zero evolution, as indicated in the manual.

hope it helps,

cheers,

Jose

What version of the manual are you using? Mine says use LIQBOR=4, LIEBOR=5 and EBOR=0 for zero bed evolution, which is what I have. I tried what you suggested but didn't get any change. Again, I think something may be overriding my boundary conditions, as nothing I do to the boundary conditions file seems to change my output.
Thanks

Sisyphe User Manual v7.2.

Do not know what could be happening, however, i have never tried to set no evolution at outflow.

Could you attach your boundary conditions file?

cheers,

Jose

Fudaa keeps resetting my boundary conditions file to have LIQBOR=0, which is why I suspect something is overriding my BCs. However, the problem still comes up after I fix it. Could it be a problem with fudaa?

Do not believe that, however, you can generate the cas files, and after that rewrite again BC files and GEO with to be sure about it.

Also, remember you do not need to use fudaa always, you can edit a cas file from a text editor.

Hello,
Agree with José comments. Use Fudaa only as a guideline to help you to prepare your (steering) files. Then use a text editor to double check.

Cheers,

Pablo

I just went over everything in a text editor and ran it again, I'm getting the exact same problem so it's not just fudaa.
I've attached my BC file. The line I'm using for the boundary in question is:
4 4 5 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 5 0.0 5 0.0
But again, I've tried changing these values many times it always seems to give me the same results.

Hi,
I believe is not possible to set no evolution at outflow, considering does not seem correct to fixed the evolution at outlet, however, i am not hundred percent sure. I tell you this because i already tried it with a model and it only takes in account no evolution at inflow (i indicated the same boundary condition to both liquid boundaries).

Pablo could give us further information

cheers,

José
