TOPIC: noerod & init_compo subroutines

noerod & init_compo subroutines 12 years 11 months ago #3302

Hello,

I have a model for which I would like to specify zones (regions) with different non-erodible bed elevations and spatially varied/stratified sediment grain sizes. From the Sisyphe manual, I understand that I would need to modify the noerod.f and init_compo.f subroutines.

I am new to coding in Fortran, so I don't really know how to accomplish this. Would somebody be able to provide sample code that I can work off of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Gaven Tang

Hi Gaventang,
Please send me your email. Then I'll send to you a piece of code showing how to do that.

all the best,

Pablo

Thank you Pablo. This will prove to be very useful.

Would you be able to also provide a sample code of how I can spatially vary and stratify sediment using init_compo.f?

Cheers,
Gaven

Dear Gaven,

I added an very easy example for the spatial variation of sediment sizes using the init_compo subroutine.

Hope this helps,
Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,

Thanks for the sample code.

Just to confirm that I am reading it correctly, you are defining sediment fractions for 3 different regions based on the Y-coordinates?

What is the difference between: AVAIL(J,1,1) and AVAIL(J,1,2)? In the argument description, I see that the 1 and 2 refers to NPOIN, which is the node, but isn't the code already pointing to the nodes from the if/elseif arguments?

Cheers,
Gaven

Hi Gaven,

yes, I am defining the sediment fractions for 3 zones. The 1 and 2 in the refers to the sediment size classes.
I modified an existing init_compo from 09.River_Arc validation case. You can download it on the telemac page.

Best regards,
Gabriele

Hello,

I'm trying to include init_compo subroutine in the simulation to account for a spatially varying sediment grain size distribution.

I'm using sisyphe v6.3, it seems to me that the subroutine init_compo is not called!!

In fact, when I noticed that the mean grain diameter is not changing, I added some code to the subroutine (to write a log file) to check if the subroutine is called or not but no file is written after this test!

Any Help.

Thanks,
FEZAI
