Hello: this should not be the problem.
The first call to sisyphe initializes the keywords 'SUSP1 (in Telemac)' to the same value than in Sisyphe. So you shou have SUSP1= true !
...
Did you fix your input boundary conditions correctly?
There may be something wrong with the bed shear stress cailculation.
(My suggestion would be to run the model without any bed friction correction or predictor)
Did you try to run and look at one time step?

Good luck!
Cath

I agree with Cath on :
'(My suggestion would be to run the model without any bed friction correction or predictor)'
especially, as you are correcting for bedforms in sandy material.

Thanks Michiel and Cath!

Yesterday I changed my steering files and chose more reasonable values for some parameters. Enclosed is the steering file I used later yesterday.

I looked at the dictionary file of SISYPHE 6.1 and in my computer it has the keyword "CRITICAL EROSION SHEAR STRESS OF THE MUD" instead of "CRITICAL EROSION SHEAR STRESS OF THE MUD PER LAYER" at line 2623. Maybe mine is the old version?

Before I got your reply, I simply changed the "Coupling Period" to 0 and keep everything else in the steering file. Then the program was running with cohesive sediments. You may find the result in the following plot. It's the concentration after about 1 day. I have some values of concentration below zero at certain points (black points) in the plot.

I will recheck the steering file and refine it according to your advice. Then I will run it again and update my result in this thread post .

Looks good.Don't worry about the dico line difference. It might be that mine contains some changes. Sorry about that.

I am worried however, about the coupling period =0 needed. The default option should be coupling period = 1 and if that causes an error, it needs to be reported as a bug. Could you please check this?#

Good luck with your research. Are you planning to switch to mixed sediments at some point?

Hi Michiel,

Thanks for your advice. I'm revising the steering file and also checking the code itself. I'm still trying to figure out how the coupling period works in the program. I will keep you updating if I found something.

Yes, mixed sediments is exactly what we want to do. In future work, the model should in 3D and we are planning to include high concentration effect in the near bed layer (this is the main task of my PhD topic), flocculation model, improve bedload model and consolidation. Now this is just the first step...

Hi, Cath

I've tested it again with debug option switched on. I used original file and just add three lines to printout information. Attached are the debug information. In the first file (Coupling period = 1):

at line 7: CALLING SISYPHE AT 1114:SUSP,SUSP1 F F
As far as I noticed, this was the first time calling SISYPHE. In the steering file I set SUSPENSION to YES and here I think it didn't read the value yet.

at line 79: BEFORE CALLING SISYPHE :SUSP,SUSP1,CHARR,PERCOU,LT: T F F 1
Here are the values of SUSP,SUSP1,CHARR,PERCOU,LT respectively. I added this output line just before the line 2129 in "telemac2d.f". Then the program should begin to choose which is the good way to call SISYPHE and it found both conditions were false.

In the second file I changed PERCOU to 0:
at line 7: it's the same in the first file.
at line 79: the program entered the SISYPHE loop, which meant the second condition for calling SISYPHE was satisfied (SUSP=ture and PERCOU .NE. 1)

In either case I didn't have SUSP1=TRUE...

hi I had the same problem with you, when I set COHESIVE SEDIMENTS=YES ,not give results, have you found the problem?

Thanks in advance!
