Dear All,

I am modeling sediment suspended in a sand trap in Telemac 3D.
I tried to change the "cas3D" file unsuccessfully if anyone has tried to do it and have any advice, I'd appreciate.

Deputy my files "cas3D" and "Sisyphe".

Best regards.

Please give a clear description of your problem!
What means unsuccessfully?

Hello Cusipuma,

I am not an expert in t3d but I have been working a lot with Sisyphe the last months.

Are you working with coupled or uncoupled mode?

Well, that is not what looks like to be the problem; look at the values of evolution (minimum and maximum), you are getting really high values for the time that has spent (12.5s). So, I believe the problem is that those values (really considerable morphological changes) are not realistic.

However, as I said, I am not an expert with t3d, but I believe what I mentioned before could be the problem. If it not, maybe somebody else could help you.

Cheers,

José Andrés.

Dear José Andrés.

Could you help me please, I send four file, for hydrodinamics, sediment, and result V1. Maybe the conditions is bad.

This example is with TELEMAC2D ans SISYPHE.

Many thanks.

kind regards

Hi Cusipuma,

At the start of the simulation you have a step in the free water surface. The initial level is 0.1m, but the boundary condition -1m giving a 1.1m difference.

PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS : -0.985;0
INITIAL ELEVATION : 0.1

That is likely to be causing the instability combined with the mobile bed. Is that step what you want to model?

Hello,
It seems that you a serious issue in your simulation, with evolutions of the order of 50000 m !
Please, proceed step by step :
(1) check your T3D results by running ONLY the hydrodynamics. See if your velocity field gives physical results (in the order of expected values)
(2) activate sisyphe only for bedload transport and see how your model behaves. Probably you're using a time step too large.
(3) activate suspended sediment transport within T3D. See the examples.

Analyze your results for each step (physical values? expected?), then proceed...

Best wishes,

Pablo
