open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Dear Marcus,

I only download the examples I am interested in and not the whole folder. The examples play no role in compiling the sources, so you can try compiling if the rest are downloaded completely.

Do you plan to use the automatic installer or compile it yourself from the repository? I have compiled v6p3r1 from sources successfully.

I´m using the automatic installer since my knowledge of compilation is very limited. Therefor I do now have the choice of not downloading the examples, it is automatic.

I haven't used the automatic installer. I just carried on compiling like I did in the past. I hope someone else can help you with that.

The file v6p3\examples\telemac2d\estu_gir\oilspill.txt is not the problem in itself, but the file after that one is taking a long time to download. There are a few of those making the whole download about 1.2Gb worth of data / sources. So you just have to be patient for now.

We will try to optimize this in the future.

Dear all,

i´ve been able to successfully install TELEMAC 6vp3 with the automatic installer. I have one issue thou, in version v6p2 we would use the command line "telemac2d.py *.cas -c wingfor" but now I get the message that it is not a valid internal command. Has anything changed in this matter? I´ve seen in the CFG file that the compliing command is not wingfor.

I´ve also seen that the enviromental variable "SYSTEL" was not created. Is that correct or must I create ir manually?

Hello,

That is correct, it does not create the SYSTELCFG anymore, because instead it creates two shortcuts on your desktop (one for scalar, the other for parallel) within each is set the variable SYSTELCFG. This allows to switch between version / configuration. If you prefer just one configuration, you can still add it yourself and then use a standard DOS command windows. -- the value of SYSTELCFG must be the name of the "active" configuration files (under \configs\)

-c configuration_name should work, but do check that you use the correct name.

Note that the installer created two shortcut and two config files. You can type config.py to see which one is "active"

I understand now what has changes, but I still haven´t been able to actually run the simulation. What is the python command to run telemac? In the previous version we would use telemac2d.py for example.

The commands have not changed, but the structure of the system has -- just make sure your PATH now points to c:\......\scripts\python27 instead of c:\......\pytel
