Next step when compiling in parallel: You need MPICH2 and the METIS library.
There are many post on this form about these two.

For the METIS library, do download the 32b (or 64bit) versions available in the Download area, pre-compiled with Intel Fortran Compiler. Place the lib under C:\opentelemac\lib\libmetisXXb.lib. (It does not have to be there exactly, but just for convenience)

For MPICH2, I think you can use the official website for MPICH2 -- do check the forum though, just in case. For the install, try installing mpi either directly on your C:\mpich2 or under C:\opentelemac\mpi.

Finally, once this is done, make sure the path in your config are correct.

This makes sense although I think I have installed teh wrong MPICH2, as when I compile it now it still says:

ipo: error #11018: Cannot open C:\opentelemac\mpi\lib\fmpich2.lib
xilink: executing 'link'
LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'C:\opentelemac\mpi\lib\fmpic
h2.lib'

Which one is the correct one to install from the link below:
www.mpich.org/downloads/

I downloaded version 1.4.1p1 [x 86 64] for windows from Author Jayesh Krishna in the Unofficial Binary Packages: section, but this does not seem to give me a .lib file as suggested in the error message. I have a .msi file, its full name is mpich2-1.4.1p1-win-x86-64.msi.

I assume you have installed it in C:\opentelemac\mpi\, and that the file fmpich2.lib is not in C:\opentelemac\mpi\lib

The file is too big, but please download the mpich2-1.3-win-x86-64.msi file from here: www.mpich.org/downloads/versions/
