Hi there,

I want to setup telemac. I've read I should have a Fortran compiler. I'm familiar with Visual Studio. On Intel and Microsoft websites, there are 100's of options. Can anyone help me find the exact product I need for profesionnal use of Telemac?

Thanks!

Hello,

We promote open source and freeware. While you could buy a fortran compiler and IDE, you do not have to.

Many of use the gfortran compiler, which is very comparable to the intel compiler. It works on linux, windows and mac operating system.

If you want an IDE, you can try NetBeans or Eclipse. Note: you will also need the python language for which Microsoft is a bit more useless (as opposed to NetBeans and Eclipse).

Hope this helps,
Sébastien.

Thanks a lot.

I was not aware of those solutions. At this price, I'll give them a try! ;)

Hello,

I'm running on windows 7.

Could you clarify : " Note: you will also need the python language for which Microsoft is a bit more useless (as opposed to NetBeans and Eclipse)."? What is Python for?

Thanks!
