Hello all,

Is it possible to install and operate the Telemac system on Windows Server 2008 (R2) or Server 2012? If so, can Windows Server improve the calculation performance of Telemac.

Thanks,

PL

Hello,

Yes of course it is possible. Speedup is however not evident. You will get better speed up by optimizing your compiler options or, even better, by adding more cores and processors to your cluster.

Best regards,
Sébastien

Hello,

I have installed telemac on a Windows environment using MinGW-64 and MS-MPI instead of MPICH2 (I have installed Microsoft HPC Pack 2012 on a Server 2012), but I am so far unable to distribute jobs between nodes/workstations in the cluster. It seems that the telemac scripts are not, out of the box, compatible with the HPC Pack commands.

Local computations work fine though, but you wouldn't see any performance gain compared to the standard MPICH2 configuration which is much simpler to implement.
