open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello !

I have read another thread in this forum talking about chaining HYCOM and TELEMAC3D.

I would like to force a marine open boundary of TELEMAC3D with MARS3D outputs (T, S, U, V).
These conditions are non homogeneous in space and vary with time.

Is anyone has already developped some code in order to perform such simulation ?

Hello Vincent

This kind of forcing is always case dependent and can hardly be generalized. We have several experiences of forcing Telemac3d with time and space varying boundary conditions. This can be efficiently done with the edition of subroutine bor3d.d (sources/telemac3d).
Actually we are developping a more efficient way to achieve such forcing. Hopefully in the next release, user can include all his data in a serafin file and Telemac will read and interpolate (in time and space) variables needed during the computation.

This development involved the introduction of new keywords in the dictionnary and of a new subroutine, so only providing you with bord3d would not be enough. My advice is to either download the trunk, or wait for the next release.

The developments are indeed already on the trunk, you can download the latter from the website. See:

Note that the stability of the trunk is not garanteed. I advise you to go back to a stable release as soon as it is made available. The version release is planned for December.
