open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I have read many posts in the forum but there is no clear explanation about how we can deal with a sluice gate. If I aim to simulate this case presented in the following graph. How can I play with the subroutines, especially for the mesh above the sluice gate.

Any indication will be my inspiration. THX!

You cannot represent this gate accurately because there is a part of the flow which is an internal flow. The only possibility would be to model the gate as a culvert, with a discharge that depends on the free surface elevations on either sides of the gate. This will be a new feature of version 7.2 and it is already in the trunk version, but I do not know the details. There is at least an example which has been added recently.

There will be two culvert formulations available in version 7.2 for TELEMAC-3D, one of them is already available in TELEMAC-2D. There will be a documentation and examples, corresponding to tidal rivers linked to a floodplain through several culverts. If you want I can send you the documentation and the description of the two examples.
