Hi,

Is it possible to apply a FRICTION DATA FILE in 3D? The 3D-dico can't seem to find the keyword.

Thanks in advance!

Joanna

Hello,

Alas this is not programmed in 3D. If you do not have different friction laws, just different zones, and if you have already done the data file, a possibility would be to do one time step in 2D, asking for the friction coefficient in the results file (W in the list of VARIABLES FOR GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS). Then you can use this results file as a geometry file for the 3D calculation, and friction will be recognized (hopefully...).

With best regards,

Dear Jean-Michel,

So if I want to apply the bottom friction file (taken from 2D model) for 3D model, which keyword could I use in order to read the file?

Thanks & Best Regards
Huy

Sorry I have made it done! I would like to say that we can apply bottom friction locally in 3D model!

It can be done in putting the sediment repartition in the mesh file (selafin) and then put the value in user tables and then compute the friction coefficient and so on. That is what I am doing.
Cheers
