How to pump and re-inject water ? 7 years 10 months ago #24723

Hello !

I would like to pump water and re-inject this water in another node during a computation of TELEMAC3D, with a prescribed flow and dynamic T/S.

My first idea is to :
* add two boundary point (455) with the same positive and negative flow rate , representing the pumping point and the point of discharge
* modify BORD3D.f in order to impose T/S values of this discharge with the same values from the pumping point

thanks for your help !

Hi
I think it will be better to use 2 sources points!
No fortran file required, just 2 values (negative and positive) for the discharge and the location of sources points
Have a look into the manual for all details

but how can I impose dynamically the temperature/salinity of the pumped water ?

For tracer, you have to adapt the fortran file (source_trac?) to use the value upstream as value for the injection.
It seems to me this point as already been discussed in the forum because this is commonly used for thermic simulation where your reject is X° higher than the pumped water

Hello,
You may try to use the culvert model, and set the head loss coefficients to zero (or whatever you need). It is available for TELEMAC-3D in V7P2 which has been release in December.
The tracers will be managed by the model. You can define a length for the tube, a relaxation time, head loss coefficients,...
Best regards,
Agnès

Also if you want to prescribe yourself the value of the flow rate you can modify the BUSE subroutine in TELEMAC2D (it is the one used by TELEMAC-3D also).
