Hello there,

It would save a lot of time if the source in parallel mode i T3D would automaticly move to the nearest node. Specially when testing a lot of alternatives with different meshes but with sources on the same place or having a lot of sources and wants to create a new mesh - the need to write/change a lot of decimals, which you need to run the model to get, is very time consuming and annoying.

Please :cheer: Would be extremly thankful if this could be updated.

Have a nice day,
Charlotta

Hi Charlotta

We well understand the problem but it's not so easy...
In the past, you could use source coordinate and Telemac was looking for the nearest node. But in parallel, if the node is outside the sub domain, it was not considered and it the nearest node is at an interface between 2 sub domains you have some problems...
Using node number is safer but could be problematic is you change the mesh...

This is why I thought the solution is in a gis preprocessing. You could use a fix layer of points to describe the location of your sources and then create automatically the data required for the computation according to the used mesh.
This is an ongoing development at Artelia. Hope we could release it soon

Regards
Christophe
