Hi,

1.I test the utm_2007.cas with telemac2d model. The result(water level and velocity) is verified with the oberserved data.

2.But the result of telemac3d model(utm_2007_3d.cas) is so bad.
I compare the two result on one boundary point and one inner point.
The tidal range computation is so strange.

3.I think there must be something wrong with my 3d steering file.
Please help me to modify it.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards

He Jiawei

Hello

I didn't look in depth at your steering files but I can see that tidal prescription is good for 2D and 3D model. So you can investigate other points rather tidal boundary conditions.
It looks like 3D model is getting unstable since first time steps.
some recommandations:
- you are using tpxo for boundary condition, but not for initial condition, which could make the model "colder". thus use tpxo for initial conditions
- decrease time step for 3D
-increase the diffusion,
-...

Good luck

Hello

I try your suggestions but the result is still bad.

The bad result occur at the all open sea points except the boundary points.

But the result is good without setting the tracer salinity.

Notice that the depth of the open sea is from 400m to 4000m.
Is the sigma mesh transformation inappropriate for solving the baroclinic?

Best regards
