Hello,
I want to impose velocity on boundaries. I have recuperated velocity from mercator model.
I modified the subroutine bord3d to impose a profile of velocity for the different boundaries.
I join two pictures of velocity at the free surface and at the bottom.
The velocities imposed are correct on the boundaries with high velocity on free surface and lower at the bottom. But when you looked to velocities on the domain, the velocities are the same for every layer.
Why the profile of velocity imposed on boundaries is not reproduced by the model?

Hello,

There could be other problems but a point is that you use a Nikuradse friction law with a very small size of sediment which virtually means "no friction on the bottom", so the velocity is not slowed down on the bottom and your boundary conditions rapidly disappear.

With best regards,

Thank you for your answer.
I tried the law of strickler before using the Nikuradse law and I found the same problem.
