I am not the appropriate person to tell you this, because in my field of study we hardly use channels, so using the Channel Mesher is not an option.

But either way, I prefer the T3 Mesh Generator because it is not restricted to a fixed number of nodes across and along channel, rather you specify the density of nodes you want in a specific region and the Mesh Generator adds them as necessary. The nodes are added "randomly" obeying the density areas you specified, and assuring that the generated mesh satisfies the criteria of a Delaunay triangulation.
