I my opinion, before going to advanced features, verify that you have consistant options for the hydrodynamic model.
1- turn off sediment part
2- verify that your boundary conditions are well prescribed. You say that there is no flux through boundaries, this seems to be wrongly set. I see also in the cli file that you set a condition 5 5 5 which needs level and discharge in the same time. I m not sure that this is what you want to prescribe. A final comment about the tracer column in the cli file which is set to 2 for your liquid boundaries which is not physical. put rather a value of 5 if you want to prescribe it or 4 for free outlet.
3- you have defined tracers set as temperature and salinity and in the same time you use a density law =0 which is not very compatible.

Following your earlier comment, I have downloaded and compiled TELEMAC v7p0. Using elevation as condition for all 3 boundaries, the simulation has been running. I have a long way to completion, it is looking good so far and I will keep monitoring it. I will subsequently include tracers.

Hi,

Active scalars, as opposed to passive scalars, have an influence on the density of the fluid, like the temperature, the salinity and the sediment. The keyword DENSITY LAW makes it possible to specify the relation between the scalar value and the water density. Then, as the scalar values modify the density it also modifies the fluid motion and the turbulence. Taking those effects into account is important: otherwise you won't catch the correct hydrodynamics.

Hello Agnès,

I got the same error (SYSTEM ILL-DEFINE PRECONDITIONING 17 IMPOSSIBLE) at the very beginning when testing the air-water heat exchanging process on V7P3 using a simplified case with dry area (DENSITY LAW = 1), please see the bottom topography and .cas file attached. I'm wondering if this is related to the known issue you mentioned and any solution?

Hi,
I also had this error message and only could solve it by restraining my cases to cases where there are no dry nodes.
My computations also based on the example heat_exchange (active tracer = Temperature and heat exchange with the atmosphere). For an uknown reason the error did not occur when not using WAQTEL.
Therefore I would also be interested if there is a solution to that bug (if it's due to that bug).

Hi,

I'm getting the same error message. I tried option 1 and 2 for treatment of tidal flats, but I'm still getting same error.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Hello everyone,

Just a feedback, after some trial and error I found a solution to this problem, that's using k-e model and refine the mesh as much as possible, and lower the time step accordingly. It works perfectly in my case at least, hope it also works for yours.
