I don't ask or the initial velocity!
I want to know the velocity in the from of the flow, when the flow reach the fine area!
You fix the time step to 0.1s so according to your mesh, in the fine area, to comply with a CFL number of 1, you should have 0.5 m/s and in the rough area this will be 5 m/s...

As the reality will be probably in between, it could be interesting to try with different time step...

Another interesting test will be to build 2 mesh of the channel, with a constant mesh size. One with 0.5m and the other with 0.05m and try to run your simulation...
