Good morning to everyone,
I'm trying to build a forecast model with wind and tide simulations.
I should make a model that simulates 48 hours, make a forecast, and start a second simulation using as initial condition the data found at the 12th hour of simulation. How can I get such a hotstart?

thanks

Hello R,

I am not sure about what you want exactly.

However, if you want to get a hotstart with the conditions your model has at 12h, you just have to run your model for 12h and use that results file as a previous computation file for the next simulation (I assume you would implement several changes to your model after having the hotstart).

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,
José Andrés.

Hi,
thank you for the reply.
i try to esxplain better my idea:
i would:
1) do a simulation long 48 hours;

2) see all the result of 48 hours of simulation;

3) take the conditions that I found in 2) at the time step corresponding at 12 hours and use that conditions as inizial condition for a new simulation long other 48 hours.
4) go forward in this way

i don't know how extract the conditions at 12 hours.

Hi,

you can take a look at the

4.2.3 Resuming the computation

in the Telemac3d User manual.

keywords

COMPUTATION CONTINUED = YES
PREVIOUS COMPUTATION FILE='file_name.slf'
RECORD NUMBER FOR RESTART=35

probably can be a good start point.
