Hy,

I am trying to create a 3D hotstart for a simple case of coastal waters with small Wind effect.
My simulation runs for hours and the velocities increase a lot before the simulation stops.
I tried different timesteps from 0.1 to 120 s, and my smallest mesh size is approx 30m.
Should I refine my mesh?
Enclosed my cas file.
Thanks!

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Hard to say lots of things without seeing your results and mesh. Are the locations where velocities are big just before crashing in specific areas (tidal flats, boundaries or somewhere else?)?

Have you tried to simplify your model (some options you used are not the default ones) and tried the recommendations suggested by Agnes: www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/21-...s?limitstart=0#33592

What about your simulation without wind?
