I am looking for examples of Telemac being coupled with other numerical models such as ROMS, MARS 3D... etc

When we do a coupling with another such model, it is in fact not coupling but "chaining", i.e. the results of the first program on the boundary points of the second are extracted in a file, to be read as boundary conditions. So you only need to know the coordinates of the boundary points. We now have in version 6.1 of Telemac-2D a procedure that can automatically extract tidal data from a regional model. This is done, to begin with, with a larger Telemac model around France, and we plan to extend it to Telemac-3D and to apply it to other models.

I review the old message to find some ideas to transfer from HYCOM the boundary conditions, and find your message. Do you have some routine to make that transfer to boundary condtion and the initial condition?

In the version V7P1 that will be released in a few weeks there will be python scripts to extract HYCOM data on your Serafin mesh to prescribe initial and boundary conditions in Telemac-3D.

You'll be able to use the file of initial conditions as a restart file. However, the reading of the boundary file and the prescription of the boundary conditions based on it is currently under development and should be merged on the trunk within the next few months (but it won't be part of the V7P1).

Please find attached files with an example of Boundary conditions using Hycom data.

You will find two scrpts (sh for ubuntu). One is to extract individual points (1 year). The second one is to create the files that telemac will read. There is also a excel sheet to understand Hycom grid.

Then you will find a case, mesh, conlim and fortran files. In fortran I modified the subroutines to get the boundary conditions.

please not that tel3dv700.f does not work with the last version (v7p1r0). This is due at least to the change in subroutine leclim.

tel3dv700.f is actually v7p0r1, I just didn wrote everything. v7p0r1 is the version I'm using now.

Then for the example to work I need to send two big files of Hycom data but they are unable to pass as attached file so I need an em,ail account to do this.
