open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi all!

I recently installed v6p3r1 and wanted to extract cross sections from a 3D result file using Postel3D.
I did not have troubles running Postel3D with v6p2 but now it fails.

I attach a postel log file.

Please note that Postel3D v6p2 DO work with this very steering file.

Any idea of what causes the trouble?

I tested postel3d 6.3 on the lock exchange benchmark case. It does not work.

Did someone manage to run postel3d in 6.3?? Can it be a bug somewhere / new dico definitions / ... ?

Hello,

A first information, I tested the 2 test-cases of Postel3d with Perl scripts and it works. A useful information would be to know if it works on your installation with Python. Then if yes it is specific to your file but we could test it if you post it.

No, I use Python. No postel3d cases run with 6.3. They do with 6.2, also with Python.

If by "file" you mean the postel3d steering file, I used the ones provided in the lock exchange case so the problem should not be there.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply but i was away.
There is indeed a bug in postel3d :
In a serafin file you can have a date written.
And postel3d was not handling that possibility.
You only have the error in Python because now Python is forcing to add the date where Perl is not.

I will post a corection for the file here this week if you are interested.
The correction will be in the next release anyway.

Yes, I am interested to have this correction file (a fortran subroutine that I need to include in my postel3d fortran file?). This will allow me to launch all the programs without changing my telemac configuration...

Thanks for the file. However, I tried to launch postel3d with your file in FORTRAN FILE but got exactely the same problem (see log file attached).

Should I include it in my postel3d fortran file (??) or should I recompile the whole program?

Am I missing something?
