Hello everyone

I’m a student and I’m trying to use Telemac3D on really simple cases. I starter from the example “bump” given when you download Telemac. I wanted to just change the mesh by creating a new one with BlueKenue.

The computation is fine for the first four time steps and then an error message appears:

CALCOT : LES PLANS 1 ET 2
SE CROISENT AU POINT 18787
COTE BASSE : -0.20000000000000001
COTE HAUTE : -0.22002023083231109
DIFFERENCE : -2.0020230832311081E-002
HAUTEUR : -8.0080923329244325E-002

PLANTE : ARRET DU PROGRAMME APRES ERREUR

The deformation of the free surface seems fine for the first steps and I just created a new boundary condition file and a new Selafin file for the new mesh.

I don’t really understand why the computation crashes. Could it be because my new isn’t as regular as the one in the example?

I attached all my files if you want to have a look at it.

Thanks for your help

Baptiste

Hello,

You seem to have a negative depth, which causes the crash when the program tries to rebuild the mesh. If your case should not have dry zones this is probably a mistake in your data, if it may have dry zones you can tune keywords to avoid negative depths :

TIDAL FLATS : YES
OPTION FOR THE TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS : 1
OPTION FOR NEGATIVE DEPTHS : 2

This may require other changes but the program will tell them.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet
