Hi,

I ran the simulation for 3D model. But I am getting a empty Ipobo file in the 3D result file. I don't know why??

NUMBER OF HORIZONTAL LEVELS:
I used the standard as well as the other 4 examples in the CONDIM.f for the mesh layers (11).

Example 1 in the fortran file giving velocities which is near by the 2D old simulation results ( though time step is different!!!)

When I used example 2 and 4 it gives me some error (error file attached).

File Attachment:

File Name: error.txt
File Size: 4 KB

Example 4 is giving more velocity than example 2.

Why is it happening?

Hello,

Intercrossing of planes occur when you have a negative depth, e.g. due to wrong initial conditions or a bad treatment of tidal flats. I do not understand if you are on a specific study of yours or on an example given with the package, in which case this should not occur... so there is probably a misunderstanding.

Regards,

JMH

Hi,

I am doing it for my own study area. Please check the attachments for cas, geo and boundary files.

Hello

Did the simulation starts and finishes with norma printouts ?
I cheched quickly your fortran and geometry files. You are defining the Z of all planes but your bathymetry is varying quickly from -3000 to 0. This will lead to sticked planes in a very large part of the domain. I think that is much better to use a Sigma transform with given proportions.

with my best regards

Hi,
Yes it ran normally. There is the sudden drop in the bathy near the coast. So if I use sigma transformation ( define evenly spaced planes) and with 11 layers the model directly goes to the last layers from some few hundred meters of the (n-1) layer. Is it right ? By the way I got same empty ipobo file even sigma transformation used in the simulation.

I really don't know what is going wrong!!!!!

Thanks,
Sathish

I need your tide files to run the case. Please send me them directly
