Hi,

Which among the following is PROPAGATION TERM?

1) div (hU) in depth equation

2) -g (dz/dx) in Momentum equation

3) Both

Hello,

It is all the terms that lead to the propagation of waves, so I would say both.

Hello,

Does the option 'SOLVER' take care of both of the following terms?
a) Slope effect of free surface (-g dz/dx)
b) div (hU) in depth equation

Thanks

Hello,

In mode TREATMENT OF THE LINEAR SYSTEM : 1 (primitive equations) the SOLVER is for a large system including depth and velocities, for the complete Saint-Venant system of equations.

In mode TREATMENT OF THE LINEAR SYSTEM : 2 (wave equation) the SOLVER is for the wave equation, i.e. the continuity equation where the velocity has been eliminated thanks to the momentum equations.

Hello,
Under the option TREATMENT OF THE LINEAR SYSTEM : 2, Is the PSEUDO WAVE EQUATION called as the wave equation, where h = C**2 / g ?

Thanks

Hello,

Yes, I tend to forget the "pseudo".
