Hello.
I need your help, again.
I'm actually new in post-processing 3d results by means of postel3d.
I learnt it should work in scalar mode (i.e. win7gfors).
I tried the tutorial examples in the code folder (wave or solitary) with the version v6p3.
Both didn't work, but crashed without explanations.





I checked that the scalar config works with other modules (i.e.tom or tel3d), it seems just postel3d has problems...
Any helps??

Hi!

There was a bug with postel-3d (when using python scripts only if I remember right) in version 6.3. It works with either 6.2 or 7.0. You need to change your version to be able to use it.

I don't want to install another version since I made a lot of modifications on the main modules, in the version I'm right using......

Hello,

enclosed the executable from v6p2, compiled with scalar version under Win7 64 bit. Rename the extension from .zip to .exe and replace the not working version in the scalar build directory.

Otherwise, you should take care to doesn't have the initial date of simulation stored in your result file...
As I remember, the postel problem was located here when it reads the result file...

But if the Clemens's solution works, you could use it without any problems.

Ok, thanks to both.
Clemens solution didn't work on my pc... It couldn't find a library.
My results have date and time... How could I omit this information from the already-obtained results?

Maybe the best solution will be to solve the bug in your postel3d.f file
Which version are you using exactly?
Or join your postel3d.f file in this topic...
If the problem comes from the date, it's easy to solve in the code...

then you just will have to recompile postel3d and this should works...

The version is v6p3, and I read the following post

I check the fortran file and there is the specific part for the date so the problem doesn't come from this point.

the only solution to find the problem should probably be to run postel3d in debug mode...

I couldn't find the debugging keyword in the steering file...
