Why do the sediment leave from the basin? 8 years 8 months ago #20131

Hello, everyone!

I am trying to simulate a small case. In my case, there is a basin, where the concentration of sediments stays the same in the beginning. Afterwards, they will settle down to the bottom.

I have used Blue Kenue to do the meshes. And the boundary condition is by the default. After calculating, most of the sediments has left the domain while physically they should lie on the bottom finally.

I have tried to change the parameters, but they are not working.

The result is in the picture. I am looking for your kind help. Great thx!

Hello

what are your boundary conditions, how is your hydrodynamic field ?
I'm not sure that the final balance of sediment that you read in the listing is well computed or not. Look rather directly at the result file to be sure that sediments are leaving the basin or not.

THX for your the kind reply.

Because from the picture that I uploaded yesterday, it appears that the initial mass is much greater than the final mess. So I think that the sediment has left the domain.

I have uploaded the result file and boundary condition. If you can see thing strange, it will nice to tell me. Great THX!

Here is the result of simulation.

I try to update the slf file but failed...

Here is the image.

Hello

but we can not conclude anything from this figure. To be sure that there were losses in the sediment mass, you need to use your post-processing tool (I guess Tecplot here) to integrate over the whole volume the mass os sediment and then compare it with initial mass.
