I installed Telemac V7p2 on my laptop(Ubntu)using intel parallel studio 2017 update 2 (feb. 2017). Just after installation, I tested the model with an example and it worked nicely. In a later time, when I try to run a simulation, it was no more functioning. Could you please look at the screen shot in attachment and advice me. could you also write me the steps to performing a simulation.

Thanks

Did you add the scripts/python27 folder to your PATH environment ?
The error here means it cannot find the script telemac2d.py

Dear yugi,

I have followed the steps you recommended and managed to make a simulation. But during the simulation, I get the message "eval: gfortran: not found". in attachment are the screen shoots for the simulation.

regards
Biniyam S.

Dear Biniyam,

Apparently you are using Intel's gfortran wrapper (mpif90) to compile telemac's executables, and I assume, you dont have gfortran, which you should install using "sudo apt-get install gfortran".

By the way, was that intentional? (I mean, using Intel's wrapper to gfortran) or do you plan to go all intel's way? if thats the case I would rather recommend you to check your compiling process using Stef's guide and start from the scratch just to rule out any mixed configs.

Regards,

José Díaz.

Dear diaz,

Thank you for the comment.
I installed gfortran as you recommended but the simulation problem is not resolved yet. Now, it shows the following error commands
"
gofortran:error:big_endian:No such file or directory
gofortran:error:unrecognized command line option '-convert'
runCAS:could not compile: t2d_bumflu
"
My intension for choosing Intel in telemac simulation was that other methods often gave me errors while installation but not this one. As you mentioned, I followed Stef's guide while While installing the Telemac, earlier, I don't know point I gotten it wrong. Back then I tested the Telemac with the examples an they worked quit nicely.May be, I have upsated my Ubuntu from 14.04 to 16.04 in b/n the installation and now, would this be the reason for my errors?
Of all the telemac installation methods, which is error free and comparable to Ubuntu 16.04 . Also, what do you recommend me about the errors.

Regards
Biniyam

Hi All,

Sorry for my repeated questions.

I removed my first installation using intel parallel studio and went on to install Telemac using the installation guide available on [wiki.opentelemac.org/doku.php?id=installation_on_linux]. The installation was going smoothly till it was interrupted by an error during compilation of TELEMAC [compileTELEMAC.py].[the screen shoot is in attachment].

It seems in both installations of mine the problem was associated with gofortran. though, I have it installed. Can you please recommend me a solution.

Thank you

Dear Biniyam,

Could you post the Cfg that you are using?

From the screenshot It seems you are using the "-DHAVE_VTK" which is useful if you intend to use Paraview plugin, and I believe you dont have the "-DHAVE_MPI" which is necessary for parallel runs (whithout it you are stuck to single-core runs). Is this intended?

EDIT:

From one of your screenshots, are you sure you downloaded the whole sources for compilation? Please double check that.

Regards,

José Díaz.
