open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hi everybody,

I am trying to install Telemac v6p2 on Ubuntu 10.04 using the Python installer. When I type

python compileTELEMAC.py

I get the error:

File "compileTELEMAC.py", line 59, in <module>
from parsers.parserFortran import scanSources
ImportError: No module named parsers.parserFortran

indicating that the file parsers.py cannot be found. I did an automatic download and this file definitely did not exist among the python scripts in the directory opentelemac/v6p2/pytel. Does anyone have a clue ?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello,

"parsers" is a subdirectory under "pytel", within which you should find the file "parserFortran.py"

When you download the new version (I presume with SVN on Windows ?) make sure you tick the "recursive" check-box. It should be "recursive" by default with most svn on Linux.

Thank you for your help, but unfortunately after the extraction there is
no "parsers" directory under "pytel". In fact there is no subdirectory under "pytel" , all I have is 23 .py files (alter, artemis,..., validateTELEMAC) and one config.pyc file.

I downloaded the package (compiled codes) again in a different computer, the result is the same.

Op System: ubuntu 11.04

Package: Compiled codes (not SVN)

I have: gfortran 4:4.5.2-1ubuntu3
python 2.7.1-0ubuntu5.1

I have a similar problem.
I am trying to install Telemac v6p2 on Windows 7 (64bit) using the Python installer. I downloaded the pre-compiled binaries directly from the download page.
The compileTELEMAC.py command fails with the same error as Sivri.
However there is no parsers subdirectory present under the pytel directory.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry I am away at the SimHydro Conference .. I will re-create these pre-compiled linux version with all files.

In the meantime, here attached is the full content of the pytel directory. Just replace yours with this one and let me know.

The case is seemingly solved, after the extraction of the attachment I installed the program.

I will try to run it once with some sample code to check if everything is working, then will let you know the result.

However, and for the future, please note that the best/recommended way to download / install the TELEMAC-MASCARET system is to use the SVN checkout.

Dear Sébastien,

I tried to do as you suggested, but unfortunately couldn't hit on anything useful: I had to switch to KDE first (working normally at GNOME), then couldn't install KDESVN because my KDE was the newest version so was not supported. Then I tried to switch to an older KDE version, things messed up., etc... :)

By the way, are you sure it is easier with SVN ? It seemed a little more complicated to me...
