Hi

I would like to use a version of Telemac compatible with ubuntu 64-bit. Under the section compiled codes of this website, i can only find the compiled code for ubuntu 32-bit.

The reason why I want the 64-bit, is because it seems that ubuntu 32-bit is limited to a maximum of 8 cores. On the PC i'm working with, I have 2 parallel processors with 8c each. However when running a simulation with PARALLEL PROCESSORS set to 16, only 8 cores seems to be running.

If telemac ubuntu 64bit is not available, is there any way i can bypass this limitation with the 32 bit version.

Thanks very much for support

Mathieu

Hi Mathieu,

As there are no compiled source for ubuntu-64bit.
I suggest you try to install Telemac from the source files.

You can find a description on how to do that on the website.

Hi Yoann,

I tried with compiled code... However, since i'm running 64 bit i get an error code during compilation :

/usr/bin/ld: i386 architecture of input file `gredelmet_autop.o' is incompatible with i386:x86-64 output
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
... The following command failed for the reason above
/usr/bin/mpif90 -fconvert=big-endian -frecord-marker=4 -lpthread -v -lm -o /home/mathieu5roy/Desktop/ubugfopenmpi/parallel/parallel_v6p2/ubugfopenmpi/gredelmet_autop gredelmet_autop.o -Wl,--start-group /usr/lib/openmpi/lib/libmpi.so /home/mathieu5roy/Desktop/ubugfopenmpi/libmetis.a -Wl,--end-group

This is why i need to use 32 bit version...

I read a bit about it and it seems i need to recompile kernel and changing .config.
