Dear all,

I am trying to perform a simulation of the sedimentation of a reservoir using the sisyphe (coupled with Telemac 2D).

It is posible to prescribe a boundary condition file for telemac 2d and another for sisyphe?

If it is posible, how do i have to configurate the steering files?

thanks,

Jose Almeida

Hello Jose,

I think you should have a look at the SISYPHE examples, e.g. littoral test-case.

Hope this helps,

Hi José,

Indeed, it is possible to use different boundary conditions files (one for sisyphe and another one for t2d).

For Sisyphe, you can prescribe either solid discharge (bed load) or concentration (suspended load), both at the same time is not possible. Look at the user manual for Sisyphe (v6.3 or v7.2).

In version 6.3, you will find those topics in sections 6.6.2 (suspended load boundary conditions) and 7.2 (bed load boundary conditions).
In version 7.2, you will find those topics in sections 2.7 (bed load boundary conditions) and 3.4 (suspended load boundary conditions).

I advise you to use the last released manual version 7.2.

I hope it helps.

Cheers,

José

Dear all

Sorry, but I believe I was not clear on my previous question. I am trying to input a variable solid and liquid discharge in a same simulation.

Is it possible?

thanks.

Hi José,

I think you are not being clear enough, but I think I get it now.

What you want to do is to prescribe a variable discharge (flowrate) for Telemac2d and variable solids discharge (sediment entering), both time-varying, am I right? If so, the answer is yes, it is possible. Use one liquid boundary file for t2d and another one for Sisyphe.

As I said previously, you should take a look at the manual; there are some considerations about what you want to do.

I hope it helps, if not, would be helpful a deeper description about the case you are running!

Cheers,

José
