Hi
I am beginner in Telemac.I am trying to couple telemac3d with sisyphe.
I read some example files in sisyphe folder and got some questions.

It seems that telemac3d couple with sisyphe must have a telemac2d result file as continuation file.I would like to know why?
Can telemac3d possible couple with sisyphe without 2d continuation file if I want to calculate bed load sediment.
I read usermanual and did not find the answer so please someone could help me.

Thank you in advance!

Hello Jason,

I am not a specialist of sediment transport, but to my point of view, it is possible to start a TELEMAC-3D-SISYPHE coupled computation with classical initial conditions instead of a 2D continuation file. It should have be done like this because a 2D computation exist and also to accelerate the initialisation step from a better condition than a constant elevation for water depth (3D computations are usually more time consuming than 2D ones).

Hope this helps,

Hi Jason,

IF you are going to learn working with TELEMAC, use GAIA instead of SISYPHE. SISYPHE is now obsolete and replaced by GAIA, and only maintained for continuity.
Especially for 3D modelling, GAIA is preferable.

But is answer to your question. Yes, you are able to run the model (SISYPHE/GAIA) without continuation file.
