Dear all,

I am confuss about the initial value for the bedload in inlet. The following is my understanding. I don't know it is right or wrong.

The bedload initial values is equal to 0.

for the natural river, when we simulate the river bed deformation and mean grain size change in riverbed. We also need to set the bedload in inlet which can be set from the SISYPHE boundary condition.

For example, for the natural river, we could define the bedload from boundary condition or the subrouthine Conlit.f.

Another question for me is that, which equation is used to calculate the bedload in inlet ?

Thanks alot

Hi,

what do you mean with "inital value"?
In principle and what I know you habe three options to set the bed load boundary condition at the inlet:
- via the keyword PRESCRIBED SOLID DISCHARGES in the steering file. However it does allow only constant feeding conditions.
- equilibrium inlet conditions depending on the transport formula chosen.
- via the conlit.f subroutine in which you can specify the time dependent feeding rates. To have some indications about the inlet conditions at the inlet cross section and the transport rates using different bed load formulas you can use this marvelous ;) software which we wrote also for such tasks.

sorry reply so late

Thank you so much for your answer, Also thanks for the software introduction.

I think I got the answer with you help. For me, I just want to know for the nature river wheather we should set the inital value for bedload at inlet ?

From your answer, I think if we choose the equillibrium inlet conditions, we don't need to set extral value for bedload.

Thanks alots

Hallo,
what is exactly equilibrium inlet conditions? and how is this condition set in boundary condition file?
appreciate to have a clear answer.

Generally, all simulation in Telemac/Sisyphe can be treated as equilibrium. except these cases which has large areas of non-erosion areas in the river bed.
