Hallo,

I've got a problem while compiling the init_compo.f for two grain size distribution zones(spatially) and two layer of grain size distribution. attached please find my geometry file, init_compo.f and snapshot of listing printout.
any hint is appreciated.
Kind Regards
Najib

Hello,

I don't know for sure but maybe you should match the number of used layers? In your case with two layers -> NCOUCHES(J) = 2

Hope this helps,
Clemens

hello,
The same problem still exists. I think the NCOUCHES is the number of layers plus one bottom most layer which is in my case 3.so the problem is not that.
Thank you anyway!

Hello,

I think Clemens is right. If you set NCOUCHES(J)=2, then the 3rd layer is automatically created from the depth to the rigid bed. So in init_compo.f you should give the number of layers you want to explicitly specify composition. Typically, in the cas file you should specify 1 layer more than NCOUCHES(J).

So, I guess in your cas file there is NUMBER OF BED LOAD MODEL LAYERS=3, right? Try setting NCOUCHES(J)=2 in init_compo.f AND NUMBER OF BED LOAD MODEL LAYERS=3 in the cas file.

Best Regards,
Costas

Hello Costas,
the same problem still exists. I did what you said, but I think the problem is somewhere else.

Have you tried NUMBER OF BED LOAD MODEL LAYERS=4?

the result is the same, even if put the NUMBER OF BED LOAD MODEL LAYERS=4 or any number.
the problem lies somewhere else i guess.

I remember getting this type of error when I was setting up layers in the past. I would suggest to start from NCOUCHES(J) = 1 in init_compo and NUMBER OF BED LOAD MODEL LAYERS=2 having a constant active layer thickness set to something large, e.g. 100m. Does that work?
