Hi all,

I'm trying to use the 3D result file of a hydrodynamic simulation as hydrodynamic file in a sisyphe simulation but I get the error message that it was not possible to calculate the water depth. The parameters in the 3D hydrodynamic file are Z,U,V,W. When I use the 2D result file the sisyphe simulation does work. How can I make it work with the 3D file? (water depth is not an option for graphic printout in T3D)

Hello Sven

I'm not used to play with Telemac-3D, however, I think that you need to include the bed elevation in order to compute the water depth using free surface and bathymetry.
Just make the test with a very short simulation (1 step for instance) and generate a result file including the bathymetry and Z. Then use it as a restart file and see if this works or not.

with my best regards

Riadh Ata

Thanks Riadh for the suggestion. I've thought about it, but the problem is that bathymetry is only a 2D layer where as Z in T3D is in 3D of course. T3D does not provide yet the possibility to include bathymetry in the 3D results file. So for now I think it is not possible to use SISYPHE in a chained method with T3D. SO I will use the 2D results file for my simulations.

Thanks,

Sven

Dear Users,

Does anyone has a better answer to Sven's question than it is not possible? We have the exact same problem but we must solve the sediment transport with hydrodynamics in 3D.

Best regards,
Charlotta

Hello Charlotte & Sven,
Yes you can do that. You can call Sisyphe from Telemac-3d. Take a look to the Chapter 8 of the latest version of the Sisyphe's User Manual.

Best wishes,

Pablo

Thank you Pablo,

Just to be sure, you mean then to run t3d coupled with sisyphe?

Thanks again,
Charlotta

Yes, but please be aware that this approach was originally designed to work for bedload transport.

Thanks for the answer,

This would be great to develop for comming versions, we have many applications where it could be really useful (and the coupling is very slow...), and it would also be great to be able to read time varying input from Tomawac (FX,FY) to Telemac 3D.

Keep up the good work :-)

Hi everyone

could you help me, please I need to coupled Telemas3d with Sisyphe this is my problem.

I do not know what is the problem in this picture.

many thanks
