Hello all,
this message is connected to the thread:
A conceptual fault in the positive depths algorithm of Sisyphe?
I would allow myself to formulate three messages:
(1) Assume previous results with Sisyphe concerning wetting and drying due to bed load as falsified, the previous algorithm simply... has not taken these processes into account.
(2) Although I was told that the new development would be tested soon at the institute I work at, please deliver your precious feedback, especially compared to the situations in which the previous algorithm failed. Independent proofs from various sources are always the best.
(3) I hope a thorough, full and formal verification and validation of the new algorithm will be delivered by Sisyphe caretakers. Please take into account, that stating that "it works" because no "castles made of sand" appear on the shores is not enough. The basic numerical properties -- like conservativity -- must be also investigated to (re-?)convince users that Sisyphe is a morphodynamic tool suitable for natural water bodies.
Best regards,
jaj
