Hi to all,
I'm new on the forum and with the TELEMAC system too. :cheer:

I'm planning to start using telemac3D and I would like to install the version 6.1 on my computer running on windows 7 32 bit and with AMD Athlon(tm) IIX2B22 processor.

I haven't downloaded all the files yet, because I would like to know if telemac 3D 6.1 is compatible with the specifics of my computer (mentioned above). I checked in the various topics of this forum if there were users running on the same operating system and with similar processor but all I found was that all run on windows 7 with intel core processor.
Can anyone give me more explanation or basic steps to follow to start Telemac running on my computer, please?

Furthermore I have another question. It's possible to couple telemac 3D hydrodynamic model with a biological module? Does the TELEMAC system provide one?

Best regards.

Katia

Hi Katia
Telemac run on every computer. The only option you could have to modify (and i'm not sure it's necessary) are compiler option but as i know, we don't specify the processor or architecture in the version available for download.

Telemac3d is externaly coupled with Delwaq (which is dedicated to water quality computation with a lot of capabilities). You could also add your own developements (if the process are not too complex).

Last advise, if you never used telemac, start with using telemac2d first before moving to telemac3d. the triangular mesh is the same and it's easier to enter in the system with some 2d simulation;

Hope this helps

Ok, then:

point 1: Thanks for your help and your suggestion, I will consider it. :cheer:
point 2: For my purpose I prefer to use TELEMAC mainly with the interface FUDAA-Prepro, is this possible also if I would like to couple it with Delwaq? Can you explain me which are the main features and capabilities of this interface, please?

Regards.

Hi Katia
As the coupling between telemac and delwaq is an external coupling, you could use Fudaa-Prepro to manage telemac computation. For a delwaq coupling, telemac generate a lot of specific files which are used by delwaq for the water quality computation in a second time.

The main features of the fudaa interface are:
  • Manage the boundary conditions of the simulation
  • Allow to modify bathymetry and manage friction coefficient
  • Allow you to tune the simulation by modifying the keywords values
  • Check the result of computation
  • ...

But for delwaq, the simulation are manage by delwaq itself.

Hope this helps

Thank you for the explanation.
Some more few question and then I can consider me satisfied.
- For the access to svn.opentelemac.org/svn/opentelemac a username and a password are required. I've tried to insert my forum user and pass but they don't work. How Can I gain access to the SVN repository?
- Is Delwaq free for telemac users. If yes, how can I get it?

Best Regards.

Hi

for the first question, the answer exist in some other post. Hereunder is a copy of a recent answer from Sebastiensebourban wrote:
Hello,

You should have read access to the tags as a public user. But note that "anonymous" or your own username/password or the website username/password will not work.

Please use instead the following:
Username: ot-svn-public
Password: telemac1*

Hope this helps.
Sébastien.

For the Second question, I'm not sure but it seems to me that Delwaq is free for telemc users but you should subscribe a follow-up contract. About this particular point, you should contact Deltares.

Hope this helps
