Sorry for my ignorance. I followed other topics with the same subject, and figured out that I should use DOS command when I am in the directory with the example file:

telemac2d "examplefile"

but I get an error:

'telemac2d' is not recognized as an internal or external command.....or batch file.

What could I do.

Hello,

Yes it should work like this. If not, it means that you have a problem with paths, the DOS command telemac2d.bat is in a directory called bin in the distribution, and this directory must be added in the path. Maybe this has been missed for some reason during the installation procedure.

Thanks Jean-Michel,

I wonder if I'm missing something during the installation. I am using Windows XP, and tried to install version 6 of TELEMAC on it. I thought all I had to do was to download "install_telemac_v6p0_win_ifc.exe" from TELEMAC website and execute it, and all the compilation would be done automatically.

Is that right or should I do anything else before/after?

Hi
When you install this version, there is no compilation step. We've already made the compilation.
The only things which is not done by the install program is to update eventually your path (because it's not necessary if you use Telemac with the Fudaa interface)

At the end of the install execution, you normally have a message that gives you the value you should add to your path in order toallow telemac to run from the Dos command mode

I didn't get such a message, or did not notice it. Will try reinstalling Telemac to see the message.

One more question: Since I'm using 32-bit Windows XP, I do not need to install the strawberry perl before installing Telemac. Do I?

I uninstalled Telemac, installed Strawberry perl, and reinstalled Telemac. Then I added C:\TELEMAC\V6P0\bin to my path as per instruction given by the installer. However, I still get the same error: "telemac2d is not recognized ....".

I even tried by passing the problem by copying telemad2d.bat into the folder where my example file is. But then, it says "runtel.pl" does not exist.

I could finally fix the PATH. Now, I can call "telemac2d" from my examples folder, and run it. However, when I try to run any of the examples provided in the website, I get the following error message.

Can you pleas help?

Hi
Your test case use a fortran file so telemac should have a compilation step.
With the windows version, this step is done by intel fortran compiler (the ifort command).
In your case, whether you didn't have the fortran compiler on your computer or your path didn't include the path to the compiler

Hello,

This is strange. I am not a specialist of Windows, but if the file telemac2d.bat is in the directory C:\TELEMAC\V6P0\bin and if this directory is in your path, Windows should run it, and it will call the perl command. Your problem thus seems to be that even a DOS command is not recognised, perhaps still a problem of path. I would suggest that you try to run the command telemac2d into the directory bin itself, it will not find the parameter file and will issue a message. Then you will know that it is indeed a problem of path. I hope this help. Regards,
