Hello,

I am modelling floodplain inundation. I tested my model with inlet = discharge, outlet = stage. This was fine. The cases I'm modelling only have discharge values (no stage). For these runs my outlet = 4 4 4 (free stage & velocities) and I set the initial surface with a constant elevation. However I get the "exceeding max iterations" error as soon as the run begins.

I read on the forum that this may be due to dry zones. I'm using TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS = 1 or to 2 results in the same error.

Is their a boundary condition for a channel with dray zones that allows for free stage & velocities? I looked at the Thompson boundary conditions however I think that still requires a prescribed value?

Kind regards.

Hi,

From my experience, there are numerous challenges that result in "exceeding max iterations". I will advice try a range of time steps. This has worked for me in the past.

Kind regards.
