Hello,

These are absolute errors, and relatively they are very small, though I do not understand why at some time it is exactly 100., it could be that you have sinks and sources on dry land ?

Jean-Michel,

Thank you so much for your help. My 3D model seems to do what I want now.

Your last comment would make sense as my tracer is near the boundary and it is likely that this area does dry.

Thanks again

Hi

You could try to increase the precision of the solver (you use the default value). Another possibility is to use the direct solver (8) in such case the resolution is made to the machine accuracy and the you could check if you still have some error on mass balance.

Hello again,

I have been able to sort out inputting sources to my model. However, I am now trying to validate my model and need to input a tracer at the river source.

Unfortunately it recognises the variable in my QSL file but TELEMAC doesn't seem to want to use the values. It works in my 2D model, so i'm unsure what i've done wrong. I've attached my listing file.

Any help would be greatly recieved.

Thanks Emma

Hello,

Actually Telemac-3D expects the keyword :

PRESCRIBED TRACERS VALUES : ...

with a number of values equal to the number of liquid boundaries
in your steering file (it is the line IF(NTRAC.GT.0.AND.NTRACER.GT.0 in bord3d.f, NTRACER is the number of values given.

This is because function TR3, by default, uses theses values.

So add this keyword, and it should be OK.

With best regards,

Jean-Michel Hervouet

Thank You!

It has now started to compute the tracer.

Cheers
