I did use python but i only check the lock exchange case as it is the only one I have.
Could you try it as well just to see if it is another bug or not?

I attach the log file if it can help you to figure out what's happening.

Stupid question, but also worth asking just in case: did you add the keyword FORTRAN FILE in the postel3d steering file ? It is not in the original lock-exchange file so it would not take into account the correction.

Yes, I did add it. You can see in the log file i attached in my previous post that the fortran file is taken into account (postel3d_correction_bug_v6p3.f). Hence, it does not seem to be a compilation problem.

Mine works the only difference i have is that i am not using the fortran but i directly modified the source code.
in /sources/postel3d/postel3d.f

Could you try two things:
- Go into the temporary folder and rerun the executable.
You might get a better output.
- In your log it does not look like the file is compiled
So try to remove all the executable and rerun the python script

I reran the program after having deleted the postel3d executable. I attach a new log which shows that the fortran file is actually compiled.

I also tried to run out_postel3d...exe directly in the temp folder, but here again it fails (see image).

Should I try to recompile postel3d by replacing the old postel3d.f by yours or will it have the same effect as when used via fortran file?

Hi Violet,

The problem still persists... The only solution I found was to run postel3d in version 6.2. This might be the easiest way for you to get postel3d running, provided that you have version 6.2 installed.

Yoann: do you know why the correction does not work when adding the modified subroutine in a fortran file? Any chance to get this bug fixed soon?

Thanks a mil for your reply, I have just recompiled v6.2. But I have same problem with postel3d in older version, i do not have it on my desk pc, but i am trying to run on cluster in serial (interactive mode) and postel3d does not work there either. I thought that new version might resolve this problem, but it does not work for me.
I will wait for Yoann answer if he has solution for me. But I am afraid it might be something specific to my settings, it is still strange that other modules run fine but postel does not. I do not really want to change to perl as I heard postel works there in new version. Thanks for your reply.

Hi!

Just a question: did you modify you environment variables so that you point to the config file for version 6.2?

This is the only thing you need to do to run version 6.2 (you don't need to recompile).
