hi,
I am new user in telemac , and i want to simulate with telemac-3d and i want to give vertical velocity as the inlet boundary condition same as the attachment file and I want to know the telemac 3d has this option to accept this inlet boundary condition? and could you please guide me about this issue

thank´s for your help

Hello,

I am not sure to understand your question.

To give vertical velocities at the entrance, look at line 158 and following in subroutine bord3d.f (library telemac3d), and uncomment up to line 169 (in the example the vertical velocities are set to 0).

To give vertical profiles of velocities, look at keyword VELOCITY VERTICAL PROFILES and function vel_prof_z.

With best regards,

dear Jean Michel Hervout

thanks lot for your reply , yes I want to give vertical velocity for inlet and

I give value 0 for VELOCITY VERTICAL PROFILES in cas file and this error

appear after running :'USER DEFINE PROFILE MISSING IN VEL_PROF_Z'

should I change any thing in function vel_prof_z ? or any extra file needed?

my project have 5 layer and 2 boundary condition ( discharge for inlet and

water height for outlet )for inlet boundary condition i want to give velocity

to 5 horizontal node of all 5 layers(horizontal nodes: 1,32,63,94,125).

Thanks again and regard,

enrico

Hello,

There are two different things and which one you really want is not so clear :

* to set vertical velocities : in subroutine bord3d.f as already mentionned

* to set a profile, on the vertical, of horizontal velocities, i.e. horizontal velocities varying on a vertical. In this case you need to programm a bit in VEL_PROF_Z, under option 0, and declare VELOCITY VERTICAL PROFILES = 0 (but beware, one value per liquid boundary, so it could be as well 1;0)

JMH
