Hi,

I try to run a simulation with a liquid boundary file with tide data (water level during time at two boundaries) in parallel and get this error (see below).

The model work in parallel without this boundary condition (constant level).

Have an idea of the problem ?

Thank you for your help

Hello,

No idea, as there is no message, it could be that the error message is in the log files (process 5 and 6) in the temporary folder (if the buffers are well emptied after the crash...). If you do not find send the case.

With best regards,

Thank you for your help.

I found the two log files and the problem seems to come from crossing planes but i don't know how to solve it.

I have attached the files.

Best regards

Hello,

Planes are crossing when there is a negative depth, so when overlooked tidal flats have not been treated, and you do not seem to have tidal flats, so it could be a problem with the elevation prescribed for the tide, that goes below the bottom topography for some reference level reason ?

Hello,

T3D didn't maintain the elevations prescribed at the boundaries, the water surface was decreasing quickly until the bottom elevation is reached.

I manage to take the boundary condition into account with the THOMOSON method but now I don't see any change on the surface water level.

How to be sure that the liquid boundary file is taken into account by T3D (see attached file) ?

Have any idea to solve the problem ?

Regards

Hello,

There is obviously a problem somewhere if you declared your boundaries with prescribed elevations and nothing happens. Reading your liquid boundaries file is triggered by the presence of keyword PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS in the steering file, so may be adding in it :

PRESCRIBED ELEVATIONS : 0.;0.

will do the job. Otherwise the constant values of depth given in the boundary conditions file are taken, so you would get immediately a depth equal to 0.

It is better to try without Thompson first, to see if your values are taken into account.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. I didn't know I had to activate PRESCRIBED ELEVATION for taking LIQUID BOUNDARY FILE into account.
It's now working without THOMPSON
