Hello,

I was wondering if one can help me with the following problem:

I'd like to create a model of a retention basin (3.5mx1mx1m), which has an inlet height from 0.1m-0.2m from bottom (total inlet height is 0.1m). So there has to be a structure above the inlet, which prevents inflow from 0.2-1m.

Also, the basin should have a scumboard from 0.8m-1m from bottom, which cannot be overflown.

Is there a way to create these structures, which are not connected to the bottom? From my beginners perspective using Blue Kenue for pre-processing wont help me with that.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

The inlet can be treated with a velocity profile on the vertical, but the scumboard, though I do not see exactly what it is, is probably a problem.

With best regards,

Hi,
thank you for your answer! A scumboard (or skimming wall) is a structure near the surface which holds back things floating substances on the surface (oil etc.) but water can flow unhindered below the structure. I came to the conclusion that the "tube" subroutine might help me there.

Best regards.
