Hello everyone,

1. I notice that the result file (2D & 3D) will be created once the simulation is finished.

However, is there any way to make the result file available at the start of the simulation, so that I can access the file (that has some results saved till that particular time) although the simulation is still running?

Sometimes I just want to stop and check the result of any running simulations, but this is not possible since the result file is created at the end of the simulation time.

2. To follow up from the 1st question, if my simulation is suddenly terminated/or running longer than usual, is there any log file that I can check to source of the problems?

I notice there is a folder created each time a simulation is run, but I am not sure what that folder is for.

3. from no 2, if I accidently terminated my simulation (where no result file was created yet), is it possible to use COMPUTATION CONTINUES keyword, to pick up where the simulation was stopped and continue from there?

Any insights will be very much appreciated.

Anas

Hi

To answer globally to your questions.

In the temporary folder created for the simulation, you could find files name T2DRES or T3DRES which are the result file of the simulation with results from the beginning up to the current simulation position.
You could open those file with Blue Kenue or Fudaa to check the first time step results.
In case of crash, it's possible to restart the simulation from those partial result (you have to copy the file in the initial directory, rename it and declare it as a previous computational file).

One important point in case of parallel computation. If so, the results are splitted as they are linked to the considered subdomain. But you could open all the results files...
In case of crash, you could also manually generate a merged result file using gretel program

Hope this helps
