Dear everyone,
I would like to use postel3D to view my tracer (TA1) in Telemac 3d. I already have my result 3D with Telemac 3D with variables TA1,U,V,Z. How do I must to prepare my steering file for this problem? Could you give me a reference file of steering file? Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards

Hi,

You have some examples of steering file for postel with the code source (most of them are in French!). But you can find the translation in the dico file of postel: "postel3d.dico"

Hi,
I launch my postel3D and received only VITESSE UT, VITESSE W and VITESSE UN when I used BlueKenue to view! In my result file, I have the result of tracer (TA1) that I would like to show. Do I miss something in my steering file to define the varable TA1?
Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Normally, you have nothing to put in the steering file (all the variable in the 3D result file are exploited).
Are you sure to have the TA1 variable in your 3D result file?
I have done the test with the "heat exchange" test case without problem (my steering file is attached).

Olivier

Hi,
Yes, I already exploited this TA1 from Telemac3D : FICHIER DES RESULTATS 3D = KetQua_r3d_SGDN.res with BlueKenue. It seem all correct with the value of salinity (time series).
Postel3D will be used because I would like to show the salinity at some vertical section in my mesh.
Here with attached my steering file for Telemac3D
Best regards

Hello everyone.
Somebody can explain to me what is the meaning of these keywords:

NUMERO DU PREMIER ENREGISTREMENT POUR LES COUPES?
PERIODE DE SORTIE DES COUPES ?
PLAN DE REFERENCE POUR CHAQUE COUPE HORIZONTALE?

Thank you very much

Hi,

NUMBER OF FIRST RECORD FOR CROSS SECTIONS (NUMERO DU PREMIER ENREGISTREMENT POUR LES COUPES) is the first output record of your 3D result file to be process by stbtel. For example, this keyword avoids you to process all the time steps if only the last one interests you.

PRINTOUT PERIOD FOR CROSS SECTIONS (PERIODE DE SORTIE DES COUPES). If you want to process only 1 time steps out of 10 for instance, you can set a value of 10 to this keyword.

REFERENCE LEVEL FOR EACH HORIZONTAL CROSS SECTION (PLAN DE REFERENCE POUR CHAQUE COUPE HORIZONTALE). Each horizontal cross section will be parallel to its reference plane. It is then possible to make cross section which are at a chosen distance above the bottom or below the surface, or referenced to an in-between plane. (see section 2 of the postel3d user manual.

I hope it helps.

Laurent
