Hello,
instead to carry out a closed line in BK to define the density around structures, islands or river banks, doses exist in BK any trick to import a closed line (ie. from qgis) in which I can define the density?

I have no problem to import a closed line and to save it as i2s file but I can not define the density on that line.

Any help is welcome,
Cheers

Hi!

I am in the guts of the Blue Kenue mesher in order to improve resampling of a line based on a density object. I'm probably thinking too much along those lines... but in any case, a density object is independent of the structures or islands when building a mesh. This means that a density object may simply be a set of points, for example, that are then used via interpolation in order to calculate a density at a particular point on the closed line when needed by Blue Kenue.

Please follow up if I didn't answer your question...

Kindly,
Alan

PS Also look into the File -> Import menu... there may be a file type that qgis can create that can also be read by Blue Kenue :)

Hi Mourad,

Each line in an i2s file can have arbitrary attributes.
By default a line has only 1 attribute whose default value is 0.
(See Appendix A for documentation on the i2s/i3s file formats)

If you select a line in Blue Kenue (by double-clicking) and select "Edit..." you are presented with a dialog which allows you to change the value of the line. If you then add this lineset to the density object, this value is used by the mesher as the density (edge length) within the area of the closed line.

Hope this helps... Martin

HI MARTIN,
Finally it does not work if you import a closed line with many attributes. We have to delete the existing attributes in the GIS software (befor the import) and create a new one with name "Value". In this case of course after double clicking on the line and choosing edit we can change the value of density.

Finallay as Mr Serrer has indicated 2 weeks ago it was about only double clicking to finally access to the edit mode and than change the density value. Thank You verry much.
