Hi,

I am addapting a mesh and I noticed that BK creates shorelines without shore (or hole) in the mesh.
I am wondering how to solve this problem.
I attached a figure illustrating the problem - there are some ilands with shorelines but there are also shorelines created next to the dam.

Best regards,
Gabi

Hi Gabi

It's not really clear in the figure but I suppose there is a boundary on the top right part of the blue area...
When you mention "adapting a mesh" you mean delete elements in an area, create a new mesh for this area and merge both mesh?
If so, this problem could occur if the nodes of the 2 meshes are not exactly at the same location...

Hope this helps
Christophe

Hi Gabi,

Perhaps showing the mesh as Wireframe will help to clarify your question.

Cheers... Martin

Hi Martin,
hi Christophe,

I attached the wireframe to make it clearer, hopefully. In the north of the blue nodes is a triangel which is identified as boundary.

I merged two meshes and now BK makes a boundary in the mesh, even though the element is listen in the t3s-file (checked by using the node numbers) and no one of the nodes is listed twice.

Thanks,
Gabi

Hi Gabi,

This is curious...
Can you post the two meshes here so I can investigate?

Alternatively send them to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Hi Martin,

I cut the mesh down to minimize the size and sent it by mail including conlim files.
However, I have a solution for my problem: using stbtel I got rid of the "wrong" boundaries (just renumbering the nodes).
Apparently the element was listed twice...

Best regards,
Gabi

Hi Gabi,

I don't know the internal workings of STBTEL but I don't think that just renumbering the nodes will fix the problem.

Yes, I can see that there is a duplicate element but without the 2 original meshes I can't investigate how the duplication occurred.

Cheers... Martin
