Hi everyone

How can I get data out of the node?

I'm using other programs like matlab interpolating points, but I would like to use Bluekenue

Thanks

Joaquin

Hello Joaquin,

What you want is to interpolate data to a point inside an element?

If this is the case, I think BlueKenue is not the program to do it. It is more a visualization tool. I suggest you to keep using Matlab or, if the problem is the license, switch to Python or even Fortran.

If what you seek is a method to interpolate the data to an arbitrary point inside an element, search for "Baricentric Interpolation". If you need help with that, I have some code already written in Matlab and Fortran that does it.

Best regards,

Phelype

Searching for "interpolation" in the Blue Kenue Reference Manual (under the Help Menu) will give you some ways that are supported.

For example, on page 96 if you have a set of points you could extract interpolated time series for each of those points.

Kindly,
Alan

Hi Phelype,

It's usually best to have read the documentation before making recommendations about a particular software. ;-)
Just sayin'...

Hi Joaquin,

Some Blue Kenue techniques that provide spatially interpolated values.
- "Live Cursor"
- "Map Object"
- "Extract TimeSeries At Multiple Points"
- "Extract TimeSeries Along a Line"

Hello Martin,

I'm sorry, I didn't mean no offense and neither to underestimate BlueKenue in any way.

I only forgot to emphasize that it was only a personal opinion, as I prefer to perform most tasks programmatically.

Phelype

Hi everyone

Phelype,
I understand your point, my idea was to get some data straight from the bluekenue and then do a post analysis. Anyway, I'm interested in your code, thanks
I'll talk to you internally.

Kindly and Martin, I made your recommendations, finally generate a streamline i2s file and use the option "extract timeseries along a line" but when I get the file I get a data precision of 10-6, it is possible to get a better precision or to modify it. thanks

Regards

Joaquin
