I'm using Blue Kenue software for mesh generation for storm surge studies. I've gone through the reference manual. The general procedure to draw points and lines, creating a regular and triangular mesh and how to edit them has been explained. I am a basic learner of Blue Kenue. My aim is to generate a triangular mesh over a domain for storm surge studies. please help me in getting an overview of the step-by-step procedure of mesh generation.

You can use the Baxter tutorial in order to help you to achieve such model. I do not think that you need sepcial features to build mesh for a storm surge unless you want to refine the path of the storm and the flooded zones. In this case, local refinement is well explained in the BK tutorial and the Baxter one.
Besides, if you have a coastal model, maybe you should adapt the mesh using a density that depends on the bathymetry gradient.

I have scatter points data with lat-long and bathymetry details, how to select few points from the total set of scatter points? Further I will use the selected data points to generate the mesh.
